Latest from the council

Hi Guy's
Thought I would just bring you up-to-date after Monday's PC meeting.
James many thanks to yourself and the lads for attending the PC meeting on Monday evening I am sure your presence helped greatly.

I put forward a proposal to use Grinnell Hill for BMX Trails and below was the outcome:

Firstly I was informed by one councillor (who was just being pedantic) that the area should be known as London Way Conservation Site and not Grinnell Hill. I will let you draw your own conclusions on that one !!!!!! So now it will be known as such, just to keep the peace.

The vote went ahead and was "passed" that the land be used for BMX Trails. (Hang on, stop doing cartwheels) were not there yet. All the same very very good news.

Cllr Janice Guest (who's assistance in this project will be invaluable) has already started things rolling to see about getting the use of land changed and has informed me of the following.
To achieve Trails in this area we will need planning permission. (Myself & Janice are both on the Planning Committee as well) So going forward:
Janice has arranged all the necessary things to go forward with this and myself and Janice will be meeting the relevant people in early January to begin the process which we hope will not take too long. Once planning consent has been given I will then set up and invite people to attend the first working party for the group, from this working party we will then select a number of people to move the working party forward.

A second proposal was put forward after mine by Cllr Cullina and this can be seen on the minutes of the PC meeting on the notice board near the church, he assures me he is on side with this project so I don't see his proposal as too much of a threat so I won't bore you with the details. (More of just a formality)

Anyway I hope this has bought everyone up-to-date, I feel we are now starting to make good, strong positive progress to get this area secured early in the new year.

As soon as I have any further news I will of course inform you.

For now though may you all have a Very Merry Xmas and Prosperous New Year.

Kindest regards
Dean
